In order to bring “Yamanoko” to life at ACAO ART FOREST, the artist collaborated with LLLLL:FOLL (music) and Kazuya Araki (computer graphics) to bring the mountain to life.

Yamanoko / Mountain Child
As the phrase “eight million gods” suggests, since ancient times the people of the Japanese archipelago have recognized spirituality in all things beyond nature and culture, from the mountains, land, and sea, to the various plants and animals that live there, and even man-made objects. This belief has taken root in our consciousness even today in the midst of the mixture of various religions, including Buddhism.
In this volcanic archipelago, mountains are particularly special. Mountains do not speak like we humans do, but they have been watching us since long before we were born. We are surrounded by the mountain’s gaze, and we have lived our lives feeling its gaze.
We are all children of the mountain.
